PER AEVUM

Privacy Policy

Effective September 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information PER AEVUM Studios ("PER AEVUM," "we," "us") collects through ashbornsurvival.com, the Field Station browser games, the PER AEVUM launcher, and our Discord community (together, the "Services"), and how we use it. It's meant to be read alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. You sign in with one of several providers — Discord, Google, Twitch, GitHub, Apple, or Steam. From that provider's own sign-in flow we receive a user ID and basic profile details (such as a username, email where the provider supplies one, and an avatar). We never see or store your password with any of them. You can set a display name on your profile that's separate from the name your provider gave us, and you can link more than one provider to the same account.

Discord membership. The Field Station and Expedition rewards require a linked, verified Discord account. When you link Discord, we store your Discord user ID and, via our Discord bot, whether that ID is a verified member of the Ashborn server (and which roles it holds), so we can grant the right access. This is not required to browse the site or to purchase from the store.

Gameplay data. Your Ember balance, lifetime Embers, daily streak, earned badges, and discovered species — everything the Field Station needs to track your progress.

Purchase & entitlement data. When you buy the base game, a Expedition edition, or a continent pack — or redeem a code for one — we store your order history and which edition, continents, and Expedition continent credits your account owns, so we can grant and keep track of your access. We don't store your full card number; that's handled by our payment processor.

Patreon connection (optional). If you choose to link Patreon, we receive your Patreon user ID, pledge tier, and patron status from Patreon's API, so we can reflect your support with in-game and Discord perks. You can disconnect this at any time from your account page.

Game client link. If you link the Unreal game client to your website account, we store a hashed session token and an optional device label — never a plain, reusable credential — so you can review and revoke linked devices yourself.

Community activity. When you use the site's community features we store the content you create and the state needed to run them: messages you send in site chat (kept so the conversation persists and so our moderation tools and automated profanity filter can act on them), your online /away presence status while you're on the site, and your friends list. Your display name, rank, badges, and Field Station stats also appear on public pages such as the leaderboards, visible to anyone.

Contact info you give us. If you sign up for email updates or a store waitlist, we collect the email address you provide, only to send you those updates.

Technical data. Our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically log standard technical information (like IP address and browser type) for security and performance, the way most websites do.

2. How We Use It

  • Operate your account and keep your Field Station progress in sync.
  • Detect and respond to cheating, exploits, or abuse — including automated heuristics that flag unusual play patterns for staff review.
  • Grant rank- or Patreon-linked rewards, including syncing the matching role on our Discord server.
  • Run site chat, presence, friends, and the public leaderboards, and let our team moderate chat (edit or remove messages, mute or restrict accounts).
  • Keep our community safe — see the section below on Discord logging.
  • Send you email updates, only if you asked for them.
  • Improve and secure the Services generally.

3. What Our Moderation Team Sees on Discord

Our Discord bot posts certain account-level events to a private, staff-only Discord channel that regular members can't see — for example, a new account signing up, a Patreon connection, or a notably large win or loss in a Field Station game. This exists so our moderation team can catch abuse and anti-cheat flags quickly; it isn't shared outside the team and isn't posted publicly.

4. Who We Share Information With

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the services that make Ashborn work:

  • Discord — for sign-in and to sync roles/rewards.
  • Patreon — only if you connect your account, to read your pledge tier.
  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores account and gameplay data on our behalf.
  • Cloudflare — our hosting/content-delivery provider.
  • A payment processor, once direct checkout opens, to handle purchases securely — we don't store your card details ourselves.

5. How Long We Keep It

We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages remain visible in the conversation history until they are deleted by you, removed by our moderation team, or removed when your account is deleted. If you'd like your account and data deleted, contact us (see below) and we'll take care of it, other than records we're required to keep for legal or security reasons.

6. Your Choices

  • Unlink Patreon at any time from your account page.
  • Revoke a linked game-client device from your account page.
  • Remove friends from your friends list at any time; your presence status clears when you leave the site.
  • Ask us to remove specific chat messages you sent.
  • Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or by asking us.
  • Request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, by contacting us below.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including row-level database security so an account can only ever read its own data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services aren't directed at children under 13, matching Discord's own minimum age, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Services evolve. We'll update the effective date above whenever we do.

10. Contact
