These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ashbornsurvival.com, the Field Station browser games, the PER AEVUM launcher, and our Discord community (together, the "Services"), all operated by PER AEVUM Studios ("PER AEVUM," "we," "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
1. Who Can Use the Services
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, matching Discord's own minimum age for account holders — since sign-in happens through Discord, you need an eligible Discord account to use the Services at all. If your country or region sets a higher age of consent for online services, you're responsible for meeting it. If you're old enough to use Discord but your local law still requires a parent or guardian's permission, you need that permission before using the Services.
2. Your Account
Accounts are created by signing in with Discord. We rely on Discord to verify your identity — we don't collect a separate password. You're responsible for anything that happens on your account, so keep your Discord account secure. One account per person; accounts are not transferable and can't be sold, gifted, or shared.
3. Embers and the Field Station
Embers are a virtual, in-game point used across Field Station activities. Embers have no real-world monetary value. They cannot be purchased, cannot be redeemed or exchanged for real money, gift cards, or any other item of value, and cannot be transferred between accounts. Because Embers aren't money, the games of chance in the Field Station (Ember Roll, Fossil Reels, Blackjack, and Ashfall) are entertainment features, not gambling — nothing you win there can be cashed out. We may adjust, correct, or reset Ember balances at our discretion to fix bugs, reverse the effects of cheating or exploits, or correct errors.
4. Purchases
Ashborn's distribution is moving to Steam — see our Steam page for the latest. Ashborn is sold as a base game, including North America's full roster of species, plus additional continents sold as a whole pack once each releases. Continents are priced by development complexity, never by in-game power: owning more continents never grants a statistical, damage, health, or other competitive advantage. Expedition Edition and Premium Expedition Edition include the base game plus a set number of continent credits, each redeemable for one continent pack of your choice once it ships.
A continent purchase is permanent for your account — it doesn't expire and isn't a subscription — but it's tied to that account and can't be transferred, gifted, or resold to another account.
Existing Expedition Access purchases made directly through PER AEVUM remain valid and unaffected by the move to Steam. Purchases grant a license to access the content and are generally final once fulfilled, except where required otherwise by law or stated separately at checkout. If something goes wrong with an order, contact us through our Discord and we'll sort it out.
5. Community Conduct & Your Content
Ashborn's rules — posted in our Discord server — are part of these Terms. Harassment, hate speech, cheating, exploiting bugs, spamming, or attempting to disrupt the Services for other players isn't allowed. Depending on severity, we may warn, mute, kick, ban, or otherwise limit an account, and may adjust game-currency or progress gained through cheating or exploits. Some of these actions are automated — for example, unusual play patterns can flag an account for staff review.
"Your content" means anything you submit through the Services — chat messages, your display name, and similar text. You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it you grant PER AEVUM a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute it within the Services so the feature works (for example, showing your chat messages to other members and your display name on the leaderboards), and to moderate it. You're responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it.
We may edit, hide, or remove any content, and mute or restrict any account, if we reasonably believe it breaks these Terms or our community rules, or to keep the Services safe. Chat is filtered automatically for prohibited language. You can delete your own chat messages where the interface allows, and you can ask us to remove specific content you posted.
6. Ashborn Is Pre-Alpha
Ashborn is in active, pre-alpha development. Features, systems, balance, pricing, and even entire game mechanics described on this site can change, break, or be removed as development continues. Progress, badges, and Field Station activity are provided for engagement and testing purposes and aren't a guarantee of any future in-game reward.
7. Ownership
Ashborn — The Last Age of Giants, the PER AEVUM name and logo, and all related art, writing, code, and designs are owned by PER AEVUM Studios or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms gives you any ownership over the game, the Services, or our brand.
8. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for violating these Terms or our community rules, or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to other players or the Services.
9. No Warranty
The Services are provided "as is," especially given Ashborn's pre-alpha state. We don't guarantee the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available, and we're not liable for losses arising from your use of the Services to the fullest extent the law allows.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
